The Importance of Our Intuition: How to Find Clarity When You Feel Stuck
Episode 42 | The science behind intuition + a guided intuitive meditation
Have you ever felt stuck when making a decision, struggled to find clarity about what you really want, or simply had that overwhelming feeling of being a little lost?
Sometimes, the answer isn't about thinking harder.
It can be about learning to reconnect with your intuition.
In Episode 42 of the Value Your Mind podcast, Nathalie explores the importance of intuition, the science behind how it works, and why developing a stronger connection with our inner sense of knowing can help us feel clearer, more confident and less stuck.
What is intuition?
Intuition is often described as a gut feeling or an inner sense of knowing. It can sometimes feel difficult to explain logically; you simply have a sense that something feels right or wrong.
But intuition isn't necessarily about ignoring logic or making decisions without thinking.
Our brains are constantly taking in information, recognising patterns and drawing on our previous experiences, often without us consciously processing every piece of information. This can contribute to that feeling of knowing something before we can fully explain why.
Learning to notice these signals can be a valuable part of developing self-awareness and self-trust.
Why can connecting with our intuition help when we're feeling stuck?
When we're overwhelmed, anxious or caught in overthinking, it can become difficult to hear what we actually want or need.
We can spend so much time analysing every possible outcome that we become further removed from ourselves.
Connecting with our intuition offers another way of approaching decisions. Rather than only asking:
“What should I do?”
we can also begin asking:
“What feels right for me?”
“What am I noticing?”
“What is my body telling me?”
This doesn't mean every gut feeling is automatically correct. Instead, it's about developing the ability to pause, listen and become more aware of the information coming from within us.
A guided intuitive meditation
In this episode, Nathalie also shares a guided intuitive meditation designed to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom and create some space around whatever may be feeling unclear.
You can use the meditation when you're facing a specific decision or dilemma, or simply when you feel disconnected from yourself and want to create some greater clarity.
The meditation begins at approximately 17 minutes into the episode.
Find somewhere quiet, get comfortable and allow yourself a few minutes without needing to find an immediate answer.
Sometimes clarity comes not from searching harder, but from creating enough space to listen.
Try connecting with your intuition
If you're currently feeling stuck, take a few moments to pause and ask yourself:
What am I feeling right now?
What do I already know, underneath all the overthinking?
Is there something I'm avoiding because I'm afraid of the answer?
What feels like a “yes” in my body?
What feels like a “no”?
If I trusted myself a little more, what would I choose?
You don't necessarily need to make a decision straight away.
Sometimes the first step is simply becoming quiet enough to hear yourself.
